MPA’S FAST COLLECTS $11,000 FOR AFRICAN MICROFINANCING LOANS

St. Louis based Microfinancing Partners in Africa (MPA) raised $11,000 from its October 36-hour Fast, held in conjunction with the United Nation’s World Food Day.  Fast participants secured sponsors to make a donation in support of their fasting.  All money supports MPA in providing money for microfinancing loan organizations in Kenya and Uganda.  Through a loan, African women and men are able to begin a small business which empowers them to feed their families and begin their climb out of poverty.

MPA supports the first of the UN Millennium Development Goals, Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, through its mission to provide grants for the strengthening and expansion of microfinancing programs that empower Africa’s poorest of the poor to lift themselves out of poverty with dignity through access to financial services and education.
