Update from Africa: July 29, 2009
29, July 2009 African update (via poor phone connection to Uganda)
Greeting from Kampala! We are happy to know that Heidi arrived home safely in New York City last night. It was marvelous having her with us. We look forward to seeing the DVD she is putting together for the Cow Project. Thank you, Heidi!
It is wonderful to be with CSJ sisters from St. Louis: Joann, Pat, and Marian (normally stationed in Gulu, Uganda) All of us are taking some time to relax and see the city of Kampala. Mary Lou and I are taking time to process our three and a half marvelous weeks here. We look forward to sharing with all of you.
Yesterday we went to a cultural event with the African Ballet and African drum players. It was breathtaking. Today we went to Ugandan Museum and learned the rich cultural and historical information of Uganda.
Bishop John Baptist (from the Cow Project area-Masaka?) called to see if we were OK, to find out if Heidi got off OK, and to make sure to send his love to all his friends at MPA.
Computes are not working here at the retreat house where we are staying. A big thank you to Sr. Barbara who is taking this information by phone. Another big thank you to Tara Kluesner, our MPA intern, who has been sending the updates to all of you.
We will be home Monday, August 3. We look forward with new energy and insights to events we have planned. Thank you for all you’ve done to make this antoher unforgettable experience at Jamii Bora in Kenya and at the Cow Project in Ugan
Our Love,
Toni and Mary Lou
